Learning on the Log is a non-profit organization serving the Atlanta area offering comprehensive sensory-based programs for exceptional children.

Based on Dr. Stanley Greenspan’s Floortime Model, our programs work to engage children in enjoyable and meaningful activities while improving their communication, gross and fine motor skills. We have refined our programs through years of working with exceptional children.

Learning on the Log is unlike many traditional learning experiences for children – these programs feature fun, physically challenging activities in a natural environment and a variety of settings.

About our Camp Program

Our Camp Program strives to increase children’s expressive and receptive relationship to the world around them. Everyone needs these elements to reach their maximum potential as equal participants in the world. We believe that the best way to develop these skills is to provide interesting, challenging and fun activities.

Each day is scheduled to contain active and passive activities to promote growth within each child. We move through a variety of activities such as canoeing, rafting, swimming, hiking, group games, arts and crafts, music and fine motor activities. A professional musician teaches our music classes and various visiting artists teach our art classes.

Learning On The Log believes in and follows the principles of “Floortime” defined by Dr. Stanley Greenspan and Dr. Serena Weider.

In our commitment to the optimal growth and development of each child in our programs, we offer a low child-to-adult ratio ranging from 1:1 to 5:1, depending upon individual need.
