The Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County (DSNMC) was first founded as Parents of Children with Down Syndrome (PODS) in October 27, 1986. The name was changed to Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County in 2007. The DSNMC has grown over the years to a $50,000 organization that organizes workshops with special speakers to educate parents and professionals, works closely with local organizations like the ARC of Montgomery County to provide support and resources to families with individuals with Down Syndrome (DS), does fundraiser's and promotes advocacy throughout local Universities to educate students about DS. Our biggest accomplishment is our CAMPERSHIP program which provides financial assistance for summer programs to individuals with DS in Montgomery county.

The mission of the Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County is to provide support for families and friends of children with Down syndrome, networking opportunities to families and service providers, social opportunities to families and individuals with Down syndrome, and to promote research and advocacy by supporting the National Down Syndrome Society and the ARC of Montgomery County.
